Boo!

Jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, spiderwebs…oh my!  Get out your costumes and prepared to be scared!  Zoo BooHalloween is just around the corner.  From spending time at Memphis Zoo Boo or going through a haunted maze; there is something for all ages to enjoy!

Halloween is an ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain.  It was originally to mark the transitions between Fall and Winter where many believed this transition was a bridge to the world of the dead (History Channel Online). Today this holiday has changed from a somber pagan ritual to costumes, parties, and candy.  (Personally, the newer holiday sounds nicer to me).

Halloween is all about the costumes.  Whether you buy one or make one, there’s always popular themes.  This year many predict: “Frozen” characters, “Breaking Bad” characters, “Walking Dead” zombies, “Despicable Me” minions, Miley Cyrus, “Game of Thrones” characters, and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” What do you plan on being this year?

But don’t forget the scare…”Cause this is Thriller!”  Haunted houses, Zombie Runs, Haunted Corn Mazes, they’re are out in full boom this year!  Where will you be lurking in the dark to be…SCARED?
