Join the staff of Fort Pillow State Historic Park in Henning, Tennessee this weekend to embark on a journey down the Chickasaw Bluff Trail. Longer days, warmer weather and the emerging natural beauty are sure signs that spring is nearly here. So break out your hiking boots, zip up your jacket and get outside!
To welcome the season on March 22nd, Tennessee State Park rangers are hosting a series of guided hikes across the state, providing guests with a unique look at the spring season. The hike at Fort Pillow will present the opportunity to enjoy some of the region’s most fascinating history, terrain and wildlife.
So come out to kick off Spring with good fellowship and plenty of exercise at Fort Pillow State Park’s Spring Hike. Be sure to bring a water bottle, staff will have water coolers for refills and will provide light snacks. Meetup for the Fort Pillow Spring Hike will be at the Old Interpretive building located at the park entrance on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. For additional information call the park office at (731)738-5581.
