For the final event celebrating the community-wide literacy movement, Collierville Reads is co-sponsoring three contests with the Collierville Environmental Commission: Recycle, Upcycle, or Repurpose Contest. Coinciding with the themes in the selected books, Spare Parts and The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, participants are encouraged to explore their creativity and give (otherwise) discarded materials a second chance.
Entries include robots from spare parts, art from recycled or found materials, and upcycled products from trash to treasure. Contest entries will be on display at the Morton Museum, and representatives from Collierville Reads 2015 and the Collierville Environmental Commission will award winners. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
