11/14 – RACES: Race for Education 5K – Memphis, TN

This year the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation presents our 15th. Annual Race for Education 5K and Family Health Expo.

The excitement is set for Saturday November 14, 2014 at Agricenter next to Farmers Market. Join us for a 5K Run / Walk.

The 5K race will begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. followed by the Family Health Expo shortly thereafter.

There will be entertainment, fun and prizes for children of all ages, so be sure to get there early. This is a Memphis Runner’s Track Club sanctioned event and awards will be given to the top three runners in each age group as well as overall winners.

Early mail-in, online or school turn-in registration is $25.00 until November 6, 2015.

After that the registration fee is $30.00. Online registration ends11/6/14.

Walk-up Registration will be available on race day, fee is $30.00. Shirts will be given while supplies last on the day of the race.

The “Race for Education” was started in 2001 by a group of parents who wanted to help raise much needed funds for programs, such as art, music,sciences and physical education.

Thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors, net proceeds from the registration fees, go directly back to the classroom. The net proceeds from registration fees go directly to the school that you designate on your registration.

Each school will decide with the help of principals, parents and teachers, how to best use the funds they receive from the net proceeds of the race.

We are celebrating our 15th anniversary of the race this year as well as welcoming our participating schools to our Family Health Expo….come join the festivities!
