| Bring your favorite hand tools for weeding, grooming, thinning, and planting in the Herb Garden. Garden horticulturist Sherri McCalla will guide you through the first 2 hours of sprucing up this world-class area, then will teach you how to use readily-available herbs to make a salt rub, as well as tips and recipes for preserving and giving your herbs. For the gift workshop, please bring ½ cup kosher salt, 1 Tablespoon black or long pepper, 2 Tablespoons juniper berries, small container to hold your mix, and mortar and pestle, if you have one. This is a FREE program, exclusively for those willing to work the first portion to enjoy the gift workshop. It is not necessary to pre-register, but arrive at 8:00 a.m.; the group will leave the Horticulture Center at 8:30 sharp! For more information, call Sherri McCalla at 901-636-4134. |
